Buzz Aldrin took this picture of Neil Armstrong in the cabin after the completion of the first EVA. This is the face of the first man to set foot on the Moon, just hours earlier, on July 20th, 1969.
Neil Armstrong was a quiet self-described nerdy engineer who became a global hero when as a steely-nerved pilot he made “one giant leap for mankind” with a small step on to the moon. The modest man who had people on Earth entranced and awed from almost a quarter million miles away has died. He was 82.

the trunk
The distressed Vintage Cigar leather on this trunk is beautiful. No two are quite alike, as each goes through hand-hammering. What a job, sitting there artfully tapping at leather with metal.

The side opens to two drawers for additional storage.
Absolutely beautiful.

If there’s not enough space on the sides, the low chest version pulls out from the front.

Would love this print framed on the wall.

the ottoman
For coffee tables with little to no storage, an ottoman or a side table provides extra storage. Nice color on this one.

the coffee table
Hooking up a computer to the TV screen: best idea since sliced bread.
With the TV mounted above the fireplace, a coffee table with a hidden drawer could hide the wireless keyboard and mouse. It keeps the area neat.
The coffee tables from BoConcept go a step further, allowing tabletop use from the sofa.

Though, glass coffee tables are beautiful. It’s great if all the loose items are hidden in an ottoman to create a minimalist look.

The Thrive Emerson coffee table is rather chique.

the wall
So much wall. So empty.
To utilize all the wall space, install shelves. There’s always the sleek and simple straight bookshelves, such as the Ikea Ekby Amund.

For shadow boxes, the Crate & Barrel 6-piece cubist modular wall shelf works well and can be rearranged in whichever pattern.

For a connected shelf, I really like the more intricate, but still simple Crate & Barrel Alcove.

For more uniform boxes, the BoConcept Wall Mount offers a longer shape, which would nicely complement a chaise.
